Bellamy 'Unique Designs' Children's Teepees

We're OPEN for Christmas Orders

Handpainted & Personalized, each Teepee is as unique as the child who will enjoy it for years!

ABOUT OUR TEEPEES...

Bellamy 'Unique Design' Children's Teepees are made of unbleached muslin fabric and pine lumber. Our Teepees are hand painted with Native American designs and symbols. The spacious interior allows plenty of room for several children and their toys.

The Teepee is completely assembled and can be set up in less than a minute (honestly) and can be easily collapsed, like an umbrella, for storage in a corner or closet. The sticks are totally encased in fabric except at the top and won't scratch floors, making the Teepee ideal for both indoor and outdoor play.

No Batteries!
No Electronics!

Just requires imagination for wonderful, old fashioned fun!

We are OPEN for CHRISTMAS ORDERS...

Bellamy Unique Designs is pleased to announce that we have recently opened our new Teepee Workshop! Our 'Elves' are in full production mode for the 2008 teepee season.

Please order by December 5th if you would like to have your teepee personalized.

After Dec. 5th, we will have painted teepees and teepee kits in stock for last minute shipping, but it may be too late to have your child's name painted on the teepee.

Parents, Grandparents, Aunts & Uncles...

The Teepee is a great 'group' gift. Each child will have their own panel with their name and a Native American scene created especially for them.

OUR PRODUCT...

Bellamy's Teepees are made from natural materials: cotton fabric and wood. They are painted with non-toxic acrylic paint.

The Teepee is not meant to be a tent or rain shelter, but rather a fun play house for children from the ages of 2 through about 10 years old. It has a flap style door which may be rolled up and tied out of the way.

The actual teepee is for children, of course, but the design for the simple set up and easy storage of the teepee was created with parents in mind.

Amy developed this unique pattern over 25 years ago. The basic idea came from her childhood memories of creating a play fort out of the dining room table and tons of blankets. It was wonderful fun for the kids, but a nightmare for her mother...

The Bellamy Teepee is available in Small and Large sizes. The Small teepee is just right for 2 or 3 young children up to age 5. For kids 5 and up, we recommend the large teepee. There is plenty of room for bigger kids and their friends.

NATIVE AMERICAN SYMBOLS and DESIGNS...

Internet research has provided us with a wide assortment of Native American symbols and designs. Each teepee comes with a set of these hand-drawn symbols so the child can learn the meaning of each individual painting on the teepee. Our flyer has just been expanded from 2 to 7 pages, with lots of great new symbols for children to learn.

Every teepee is custom painted for the age and gender of the child or children. We paint the teepees for the younger children with symbols that they can recognize: fish, deer, horses, turtles and lot of others. For older children who are reading or close to it, we paint a panel of symbols that they can match to the flyer to learn what the symbols represent, such as seasons, weather, days & nights, protection, and more.

Not to seem gender-biased, but we have found that little girls like rainbows and flowers among the symbols on their teepees, while the boys like crawly things like the lizards and snakes. Our 'Indian Princess' Teepee is painted with pastel colors of pinks, purples, aqua and has lots of 'little girl' designs. (See photo on very bottom of this page - on right)

NEW: TEEPEE in a Box!!!

Just add sticks & imagination!

For those of you with creative children, you can now order an Unpainted Teepee and let them paint it themselves.

Or you can paint it yourself for the special children in your life.

Either way, it's a lot of fun and the teepee will last for years!

The Teepee Kit is shipped flat in a box (without sticks). The sticks are simple pine lumber (#2 pine 1" x 2") and can be purchased at any lumber yard or home center for about $2.00 each.

The Paint Set contains 12 non-toxic acrylic paints and 3 paint brushes. The colors are a combination of primary colors and earthtones: red, orange, yellow, leaf green, forest green, sky blue, medium blue, light brown, dark brown, golden brown, pale gray, and dark gray.

Every Teepee comes with our new Native American Design Guide - a 7 page flyer of hand drawn Native American symbols AND several pages of ideas for scenes incorporating the many symbols. Lightly draw the design in pencil and have a blast painting!

SHIPPING DETAILS:

We ship the teepees throughout the United States via UPS Ground Service.

The assembled teepees are shipped in cardboard shipping boxes, about 6" in diameter. They are marked only with Bellamy Unique Designs, so the contents remain a mystery until the box is opened.

The teepees shipped flat in a box without sticks come in a standard box - about 14" x 18" x 4". These also do not have the contents listed, in case the teepee is a surprise.

PERSONALIZATION...

We will be happy to personalize the teepee with a name or names at no additional cost. Each child will have her/his own panel. You may also select a color scheme such as natural colors (like the most of the teepees in the photos), primary colors, or even pastels for little girls (photo at right on bottom of page). Each teepee is hand-painted, and every one is as unique as the child who will enjoy it for years.   Please order by Dec. 5th if you would like your Teepee personalized!

Are you ordering the teepee for children in the same family? How about if we add the 'TRIBE' name for you? Ie. Steele Tribe

WHAT AGE CHILDREN ENJOY OUR TEEPEES?

There are children as young as a year old who have fun crawling into the Teepees that their parents or grandparents have ordered for them. Children up to age 10 enjoy the teepees. Kids who over 10 may be too old for a teepee, but it kind of depends on the indivudual child.

CUSTOMER SATISFACTION...

We are so pleased that we continue to receive many wonderful letters and photos from happy customers. Many have even sent us photos of their children or grandchildren in their teepees, and we have put together a private photo album - never published or put on the web site. (The children on the web site are our kids, several years ago.)

We are proud to have a record of 100% customer satisfaction (for 25 years!) and would like to share some comments with you.

COMMENTS WE ARE PLEASED TO SHARE...

Ann (Bright Beginnings Teepee on our site) Oh, it arrived today - and I LOVE It!!! My hubby helped me set it up tonight just so we could see it and we were both so impressed. Beautiful, beautiful work! Thank you sooo much! Our preschoolers will be thrilled with it, I just know it!

Helen in California: Amy: They called me at early evening, and my godson was yelling into the phone how much he loved his teepee. I talked to him and his younger sister just before bedtime, and they didn't want to get out. They were tearful. I told their mother to promise them breakfast in the teepee. They were up at the crack of dawn ready to go. My godson put his cowboy outfit on and his sister carried all her stuffed animals inside. It's a huge hit. Thank you.

Sandy in Pennsylvania: I just wanted to let you know that the boys LOVE their teepee and so do I! That is exactly what I was looking for! The drawings are awesome and his parents are thrilled. Thanks so much for the personalization of it. It really makes it unique and I like that! I will definitely refer you to others who may be in the market for a teepee! Thanks a lot.

Phoebe in Florida: Wanted to let you know what a big hit the custom made teepee has been with our grandson. He plays in it daily and invites us to join him in his Indian house.

JoAnn in Texas ordered an UNPAINTED TEEPEE that she used as a fund-raiser for her school's On-Line Silent Auction. The children helped to decorate it, using their handprints. JoAnn wrote, " I think it came out great. Thank you for your suggestions on the Indian symbols and some of the ideas you had; I used a combination of all. I also enclosed your card with the teepee, so maybe you will get a few parents who want to purchase. "

Tracy in Colorado: The teepee is painted beautifully. My daughters love it. I got 5 sticks no problem from my local lumber yard and we set it up in no time. Thanks for making such a nice product!

Lauren in Mississipppi: The teepee is absolutely perfect!!! It is also painted to perfection. We love it. I promise I will send pictures as soon as I get some.

Edna in Pennsylvania: Santa delivered the teepee today and it was a big hit. It was spectacular. You did a great job. We certainly will recommend you.

Janet in California: Amy, the teepee came this afternoon and it is absolutely wonderful. You are so creative and it is done so crisp and clean. We are a family of architects, to have the lettering and symbols so nicely done is just great. Thanks again.

Sally in Massachusetts: The teepee arrived it is PERFECT!! We are delighted. My grandson absolutely loves the teepee!! And so do his parents. In fact everyone who saw it loved it and I may have some more orders for you. He got right in it and laughed and entertained us all for 1/2 an hour Christmas morning. The other great thing about the teepee for a little toddler is that it is a little warmer inside then outside of it (yes I did get in it!) which is wonderful especially on these cold days. But the teepee is nice and cozy! I will send pictures soon as we took several.

Note: Yes, Sally did send photos of her adorable grandson in his teepee. And this year we were pleased to create a Teepee for her second grandson's first Christmas!

THANK YOU FOR VISITING...

Bellamy Unique Designs appreciates your visit to our site. We welcome you to contact us, either by email or by phone. We'll be happy to discuss how we can create a very special Teepee for your favorite child.

Enhance the Experience...

Set up the Teepee indoors or outdoors on a large blanket. Encourage the children to gather materials to make a Native American camp: a pretend campfire, cooking pots, utensils, bedding, etc. Serve them 'meal' of trail mix made up of small snack foods: pretzels, tiny crackers, raisins, mini-marshmallows and whatever else you have on-hand.

Enhance the Gift...

Shop your local stores for a fake fur Bear Rug or blanket with Native American Designs. Add a feather headband, Native American vest or outfit, or tom-tom. Give your special child a book of Native American stories.

A Nice Addition...

We discovered a great First North American Dream Catcher Kid Kit from USBORNE Books. This book has stories about the first North Americans as well as a kit with leather, feathers and beads to create a Dream Catcher. Recommended for kids 6 and up.
